1. Measure the image, not just the diagonal

Confirm the exact viewable width and height for your target aspect ratio. Then add the manufacturer’s frame dimensions. Mark the full outline on the wall with painter’s tape before drilling.

2. Place the projector before final screen height

UST throw geometry is unforgiving. Projector distance from the wall and chassis height determine where the image lands. Use the projector’s manual or built-in guidance to establish a clean rectangle before setting the final bracket height.

3. Confirm screen orientation

Lenticular UST material has a correct top and bottom. Installing it upside down can cause the surface to reject projector light instead of room light. Follow the manufacturer markings.

4. Tension evenly

Follow the frame assembly sequence so the surface tension is distributed evenly. Do not improvise sharp folds or creases in an optical screen material.

5. Calibrate after mounting

Use physical projector placement first, then small digital geometry corrections only when necessary. Large keystone adjustments can throw away image resolution and complicate focus.

FAQ

Can I mount the screen before buying the projector?

You can, but it is safer to confirm the exact projector throw geometry and cabinet plan first.

Can I install a fixed-frame UST screen upside down?

Physically yes, optically no. Directional material needs the correct orientation for the projector position.
